Principal's Corner

Hello! My name is Crystle Nehrmeyer and I'm honored to be your child's principal at Mountain Vista Pre-K-8 School. This is my second year at Mountain Vista and it is my belief that providing our children with a quality education is the greatest investment we can make in both our community and in our collective future.

As we look forward to the new school year, I want to highlight some of the outstanding accomplishments made by our students and staff last school year. Students in Grades K-8 participated in our innovative Tech Academy and Maker's Space equipped with 3D printers, robotics, programmable drones, raspberry-pi customizable mini computers and an exciting array of game designing software that allowed our students to build their own gaming systems and test them out in our virtual reality station. This year we will expand our Tech Academy and provide even more programmable devices to better serve our younger students. We had an outstanding showing at the Southern Arizona Regional Science Fair (SARSF) including six first place winners and one overall third place ribbon at the Arizona State Science Fair. Our students read more than three thousand books at their independent reading levels, including one second grade student who read over 50 books throughout the course of the school year. We implemented our third year of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and the results from our annual school climate surveys signify a happier, more productive school atmosphere than ever.

These highlights are a testament to our great teachers and caring staff members that serve as proof that small schools like Mountain Vista can and do make a tremendous impact in the lives of students and in the community. Communication with families, the community, our staff, and students is of great importance to me. I can be reached via e-mail at and in the Mountain Vista Office at 520-896-3003.
